Mother Jana’s Trip to Ghana |
Akwaba – Welcome! This word became somewhat of a refrain everywhere Mother Jana and I went, during our time and visit in Ghana. Hospitality, openness, sincerity and simplicity – these were the words that immediately came to mind after our encounters with the people of Ghana. Our visit from 14 – 25 January 2012 was one of a series prior to our Congregation taking root on African soil.
For Mother Jana it was a time to meet and speak with the bishops, priests and even the local chiefs. It was a time to envision our future mission in Ghana with trust and hope and also amazement as to how God is guiding or, should I say, forcing us to take the next step. In the midst of these official meetings, as always, we welcomed the opportunity to meet with the local religious, children and parishioners all of whom are awaiting our arrival.
Only God, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit can urge us to the renewal of our hearts and minds in this way. Our mission in Ghana is an integral part of our Congregation’s renewal, and the renewal of each one of us.
