Sunday, September 20, 2009, witnessed the installation of the second Provincial Administration of Jesus the Good Shepherd Province.
Local Superiors from our homes in the three countries which comprise the Province – Italy, England, and France, as well as a number of Sisters from the nearer homes, began to arrive on Friday to be present for this event.
The outgoing Provincial Administration, Sister Marietta Kepa and her Council, prepared a ceremony of transition from one administration to another, at which the incoming members of the Province leadership team, Sisters Teresita Bronska, Provincial Superior, Goretti Komonska, Assistant Provincial, Miriam Joseph Mikol, Daniela Tupaj, Benilda Przybysz, Councilors, and Gabriela Wedrzycka, Provincial Secretary, were installed and welcomed by the members of the Province present in chapel.
Sister Janice Fulmer, Superior General, in the name of all the Sisters, thanked the outgoing Provincial Administration, Sisters Marietta Kepa, Provincial Superior, Maria Teresa Jasionowicz, Assistant Provincial, James O'Hora, Miriam Metelski, Franciszka Chuda, and Maria Solecka, Councilors, and presented each with a token of appreciation for their years of faithful service to the Province. She then welcomed each of the newly installed Provincial Administration members. A special Liturgy marked this occasion, followed by a festive luncheon in the Generalate dining room. The celebration continued through the afternoon and into evening, when some Sisters returned to their homes. The local superiors remained, however, and the following day attended their first meeting with Sister Teresita and her Administration.
The work of Jesus the Good Shepherd Province continues under new leadership for the coming six years. We pray that this new Leadership Team is guided by the example of the Good Shepherd to lead the Sisters forward in their ministry of service to the Church and its people. |
