The new buildings of Our Lady of Grace School building were officially opened on 17 June, 2011 by Senator Chris Evans, the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations officiated. He was joined by Mr Ron Dullard, Director of Catholic Education in WA, and the Staff and students as well as members of the School community. Sister Grazyna Roclawska, Provincial of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth was scheduled to attend, but unfortunately was prevented from doing so. All flights within Australia were grounded because of ask cloud from the active volcano in South America. Thanks to modern technology, Sister Irene Kubacki, the Sister in Charge of Our Lady of Grace Convent received an electronic copy of the speech and powerpoint that Sister Grazyna prepared for this occasion. Sister Irene Kubacki read the speech to the school community on behalf of Sister Grazyna.
