CHARISM STATEMENT |
We, the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, are called to extend the Kingdom of God's love among ourselves and others by imitating Jesus, Mary and Joseph, whose lives were centered in the love of God and one another and by witnessing to that love through dedicated service to the Church, especially in her ministry to the family.
In response to God's love we commit ourselves to continuous, radical following of Christ, the source and fulfillment of our lives. We offer ourselves to God by the public profession of our religious vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, according to the Constitutions of our Congregation.
 |
COAT OF ARMS |
The Coat of Arms of the Congregation was designed by our Mother Foundress, Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Symbolically it incorporates and represents the charism and spirituality of the Congregation.
|
The Eucharist, source of our spiritual life, binds us in a Christ-centered community, animates our faith and prayer, and empowers us to serve the needs of the family. United in mutual love, we give witness to the presence of God within and among ourselves.
| Description of the Coat of Arms |
An equal-armed cross is at the center of a blue escutcheon. At the point of convergence on the cross we see a silver circle with the monogram of Christ (P) flanked by the black letter Alpha and Omega on either side. Behind the circle, a silver lily with stem and leaves of gold obliquely intersects with a gold scepter. Amid the radiant glory of gold rays, a silver dove hovers above the cross. A gold papal tiara resting on gold keys is directly below the cross. The Coat of Arms is on a background of an ermine-lined scarlet robe adorned with an open crown, embellished with precious stones. Beneath the shield is a curled ribbon with the motto:
FIAT VOLUNTAS TUA
