RETREATS AND MEETINGS FOR WOMEN IN BELARUS

On the last weekend of January, 2026, a special formation meeting was held for students and working women. The central theme was a reflection on St. John Paul II’s teaching contained in the apostolic letter Mulieris Dignitatem and his catecheses on the dignity and vocation of women—known as the “feminine genius.” The meeting was led by Fr. Wiktor Mieleszko, OFM, and our Sisters.

This topic proved to be highly relevant and deeply resonant with the experiences of contemporary women who strive to balance professional, family, and spiritual life. Participants had the opportunity not only to listen to conferences but, above all, to engage in dialogue and reflect on key questions: What is womanhood in the eyes of God? What is the unique vocation of women in the Church and the world? How can one realize their “genius” in everyday life—at work, in relationships, in motherhood, or in consecrated life?

The meeting began with Holy Mass, which set the direction for the entire formation period. The homily referred to the female figures in the Gospels—their faith, courage, and sensitivity, which serve as models for women today.

Small group discussions and the sharing of testimonies were particularly fruitful. It became clear that despite differences in age or life status, the questions and desires remain very similar: the wish to be loved, understood, and needed—and a longing for holiness experienced in ordinary days.

The evening passed in a joyful atmosphere, featuring conversations over tea, singing, and time to build lasting friendships.

The gathering demonstrated that John Paul II’s words about the “feminine genius” are not merely a beautiful theory, but a living and relevant call to discover one’s own identity before God and others.

On February 16, 2026, younger girls also held their meeting in Grodno. It was a simple gathering at our convent. We prayed together in our chapel and prepared pizza together, spending the evening in an atmosphere of joy, friendship, and conversation.
