Sister Angela Marie, the General Superior, together with Sister Speranza, visited our community in Rijeka, Croatia, from April 14–20, 2026.
Since September 2025, four sisters – Teresilla, Gabriela, Dominika, and Anna Maria – have been living with the Croatian Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in Rijeka. Thanks to their great hospitality, they are able to get to know the Church in Croatia, the local culture, and learn the language, which is currently their main focus.
Rijeka is a temporary place for us. Just like Trsat, a part of Rijeka known as the Croatian “Nazareth,” where, according to tradition, the Holy House of Mary stayed for three years before being moved to Loreto, our sisters are also here only for a time – on their way to their next destination, which in the future will be Pula.
