On November 20, 2019, on the eve of the liturgical feast of our Mother Foundress, a solemn celebration of the jubilee of the 25 years of the presence of our Congregation in the Holy Land took place at the Latin Vicariate in Nazareth.
The solemn Mass was celebrated by Bishop Giacinto – Boulos Marcuzzo, and concelebrated: retired Patriarch Michel Sabbah, Mons. Hanna Kildani, Bishop Kamal Bathish and other priests. Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth from various parts of the world came to celebrate together: Sr. Alina Furczyk from Rome, Sr. Goretti Komońska from the Jesus the Good Shepherd Province, Sr. Józef Kobiela from the Holy Name of Jesus Province, Sr. Leticja Łasek from the Name of Mary Province and Sr. Róża Pujsza, who began the mission in Nazareth, as well as sisters and brothers from religious communities from Nazareth, and lay co-workers and friends of our sisters.
During the Mass, on behalf of Bishop Pierbattista Pizzaballi, the administrator of the Latin Patriarchate, Bishop Giacinto Marcuzzo gave Sr. Alina, representing Mother General, a medal for the merits of our Congregation for the mission in the Holy Land. This is the highest recognition that the Patriarchate of Jerusalem grants to people or institutions most deserving on this Land.
During the Eucharist, we thanked God for His protection, and also for the goodness and openness of so many Sisters who have been serving in this place for years, as well as for bishops and priests belonging to the Patriarchal Family, for Christians living in this country and all the graces which God has granted the Sisters and people meeting them here. It was an unusually beautiful and touching ceremony.
