The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth are requesting your prayerful support for the Congregation’s XXV General Chapter, which will be held in Rome, from June 30 to July 21, 2019.
The theme of the Chapter is: “You will be my witnesses“. (Acts 1:8)
Forty-two delegates and one observer, representing the provinces and countries in which we minister will be participating in the Chapter. They will be assisted by Sisters who will be involved as support staff working as secretaries, translators, clerical assistants, and liturgical coordinator. As always the entire local community of Sisters at the Generalate will provide hospitality and assist in every way possible.
This is a Chapter of Elections as well as Affairs. Therefore, the delegates will be electing a new general administration who will serve for the next nine years. The Mass for the Opening of the General Chapter will be celebrated by Father Andrew Wodka, CSsR. Preceding the election will be a three day retreat (6-8 July) under the direction of Father Wojcieh Popielewski, OMI who will also be the celebrant for our Closing Liturgy. Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda, S.A.C, Metropolitan Archbishop of Białystok, Poland will be the Ecclesial Representative with us during the time of election.
It is our desire that the forthcoming General Chapter will be a blessed time for each Nazareth Sister, a time of fruitful discernment for the Congregation, a time for each Sister to be renewed in her commitment to serve as a convincing witness to the Divine Master. May all the preparations, prayers and work associated with the General Chapter bear fruit in our living of community, in the fulfillment of our Mission, and our giving testimony daily to the Gospel message.
We sincerely thank you in advance for your prayers and spiritual support during the time of our deliberations, so that they may bring about that which God desires for our Congregation, the Church and the world.
