When I visited my friends, the Hospital Franciscan Sisters in Szczucinsk, we joked that God had a sense of humor in inviting them to minister at the Shrine of the Queen of Families, and us – Nazareth Sisters – to the parish of St. Francis. That maybe someday we would ” switch” 😉
As you can see, it was not a joke, but such divine guidance that on September 4, 2022, in the presence of the sisters and priests of the Akmolinsk deanery, on the liturgical commemoration of our Blessed Martyrs of Novogrodek, we knelt in this “post-Franciscan” chapel, asking for blessings for our community at the House of the Queen of Families in Szczucinsk…
After the departure of the Hospital Franciscan Sisters, the parishioners, together with Father Pastor David SÅ‚adek (Diocese of Katowice), prayed for several years for the sisters to join the parish… And what seemed impossible happened…
Together with Sr. Marianna Chanina, we will be creating a tiny part of Nazareth’s history here in St. Abraham Parish – at the foot of the “Карьер” – Quarry…
We do not know what kind of road God has prepared for us – perhaps piled with some stones, like those from the old excavation, but it will certainly be a road with His grace and blessing – as unfathomable as the most beautiful landscapes of Barovoje…
