INDEPENDENCE DAY PICNIC

A Polish-American picnic to celebrate Poland’s Independence Day was held at our Generalate on November 10. The meeting was organized by the Polish Embassy to the Holy See, but our Sisters actively participated in all the preparations.

About 300 people attended the ceremony. Present were representatives of the diplomatic corps, headed by the Polish Ambassador to the Holy See, Adam Kwiatkowski, Polish Sisters and Priests, representatives of the Polish community and our students and friends. The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Lublin Voivodeship, which presented the natural, cultural, tourist and culinary attractions of the region. The ladies of the Wałowianki women’s club prepared a feast of regional dishes, and the whole ceremony was highlighted by a performance by the youth music band Arti Sentemo from Radzyń Podlaski, which presented patriotic songs, film music and classical music pieces.

All invited guests were very pleased with the presentation of Polish culture and the family atmosphere of this celebration.
